Digitizing History: How Aperture Card Scanning Preserves Documents
Long ago, important papers and drawings were put on cards with little windows, called aperture cards, to save space and keep them safe. As time passes, these cards can get old and break, and the valuable information on them could be lost. Now, we have a way to keep these documents safe forever by making them digital. This is where we take the old cards and turn them into files on a computer, so we can always have them without the worry of them getting damaged.
