For a long time I evaluated growth mainly through movement. More reach, more profile visits, more follows this week than last week. I do not think that is foolish exactly. Movement matters. The trouble is that movement can make you feel successful before the page is actually becoming stronger. A spike can be flattering without being useful. I had periods where the numbers looked more alive while the account itself felt harder to trust. That contradiction taught me to pay attention differently.

What I value more now is steadiness. Do the right people keep coming back? Does the page make sense when someone lands on it cold? Can I post without feeling like I have to become a different person each time? Do the comments sound more familiar, instagram followers more specific, more invested? These are quieter measurements, and they do not give the same instant rush. But they tell me whether the account is becoming livable. Safe growth has to be livable. If the process burns your tone, social media promotion your boundaries, or your trust in your own page, the number bump is too expensive.
