Season 14's Across the Threshold quest asks you to hunt down a Realmwalker, and that is where a lot of players slow down. If you want the cleanest path, the best move is to use D4 items to keep your build steady, then head for the event instead of waiting around for a random spawn. There are a couple of ways to trigger the fight, but only one feels reliable when you just want the quest done and the reward in your pocket.
How the Realmwalker appears
The random route is tied to Surging Rupture runs. If you clear one with Mastery, a Realmwalker might show up, but it is never a sure thing. Most players do not bother gambling on that unless they are already farming the event for something else. The safer option is the Realmwalker world event, which pops up southeast of Zarbinzet. Keep an eye on the map and watch for the Whisper marker. When it is active, that is your chance to force the encounter and move the quest forward.
What you do during the event
Once the event starts, the pace changes fast. You need to keep three Ruptures open for a set time, and the game marks each one as you finish it. That sounds simple, and it mostly is, but the fight gets messy if you try to stand still. Some players split up, which honestly makes sense. If you are solo, you just bounce between them and stay on task. The goal is not to look fancy. It is to meet the summon condition and get the boss on screen.

Boss fight and the last stretch
When the Realmwalker finally appears, it drops right into the middle of the arena. You do not need to force the highest difficulty here. Normal mode is fine, and plenty of people use it just to avoid wasting time. The other thing to watch is the three pillars that spawn during the fight. Break them when they appear. If you leave them alone, they turn into Realmbreakers, and that only makes the encounter drag.
- Enter the Realmwalker event near Zarbinzet.
- Keep all three Ruptures open until the summon is ready.
- Kill the Realmwalker and destroy the pillars as they show up.
- Use the portal to reach the Deathtoll Chamber.
Finishing Across the Threshold
After the boss goes down, a portal opens to the Deathtoll Chamber. Step through and you will land in a new arena that feels a bit like another Rupture, only this time the job is to kill enemies and grow the ritual circle. It is not complicated, just a steady cleanup phase after the main fight. Once that is done, head back and speak with Dannica.
