Sunday Night Football DraftKings Picks DFS lineup advice for Dolphins-Patriots Showdown tournaments in NFL Week 2

Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season featured an emotional rollercoaster of an AFC East clash, a Jets-Bills matchup that ended up more of a great American saga than a football game. Now fans, bettors, and DFS enthusiasts alike can look forward to yet another divisional rivalry, the latest installment of Patriots-Dolphins at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA.All eyes will be on this one, and a ton of Pats-Fins DraftKings lineups will be constructed by the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff (NBC). Today we will steer you in the right direction, and hopefully help you a semble a squad that brings you a cash windfall.Speaking of windfall, Hurricane Lee should be well past southern New England by Sunday night. The category-1 storm has been roaring up the eastern Atlantic Ocean for days, and meteorologists expect landfall in eastern Ma sachusetts by Saturday morning. By game day, it will be headed toward Nova Scotia.Phew let me take my storm-chasing hat off and throw my betting fedora back on. Let's make some money! Here'sour DraftKings lineup for Sunday Night Football between the Patriots and Dolphins. Before we get into our lineup and strategy, here are the key scoring settings for DraftKings Showdown contests: They'refull-point PPRand there arethree-point bonuses for 300 pa sing yards,100 rushing yards, and100 receiving yards. The Captain pick costs 1.5 times a player's original price, but he also gets his point total multiplied by 1.5.MORE SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: Martin Jones Jersey | Captain (1.5x points, 1.5x salary): Jaylen Waddle, WR, Dolphins ($15,300)We rarely want to draft the most expensive player into our captain spot even if we're talking about the two most dominant fantasy players in Week 1, Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill. Selecting Tyreek would have cost us $3,600 more than Waddle, while selecting Tua would have been $1,500 more. With Waddle, we get a very dependable wideout a dude who would be the WR1 for the majority of NFL teams and our ceiling with the 1.5-times boost feels like much more of a value. Plus, now we have much more money to spread out acro s our flex spots. Not only that, we have the benefit of variance it's always easier for us to pull down big wins in large tournaments if we choose a player taken far le s often in the captain spot.Bill Belichick and the Patriots have a very predictable defensive M.O. at this point: neutralize (or at least try to neutralize) the opposing offense's most potent threat. And with Jack Jones on IR and dealing with all sorts of stuff off of the football field and Jonathan Jones questionable with an ankle injury Bill might be going back to the on Hill. That will free up plenty of downfield space for Waddle, who's plenty fast himself. Sure, he can't run 19 miles per hour like the human cheetah Reek has proven himself to be, but he's very capable of taking the cover off a defense in single coverage. In four career games against New England, Waddle has hauled in 16-of-22 targets for 217 yards and three TDs. That's right around 14 PPR points per game, which in the DK captain spot boosts to nearly 21. All in do the Waddle wiggle!FLEX Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Dolphins ($11,200)As much as Hill's 47.5 DK points last week makes us salivate, we simply cannot chase points nor can we afford his $12,600 price tag if we expect to field a winning team. Spending $15,300 on Waddle in the captain spot and $12,600 on Hill in the flex commits a whopping $27,900 (or 55.8 percent of our total budget) on two players probably 75 percent of entries will draft. And if one David Schlemko Jersey of them busts especially Tyreek we ain't winning a thing. With Tua as our first flex, we have $23,500 left for our final four spots as opposed to $22,100 with Reek ($5.88K/player compared to $5.53K). That's a bigger price difference than you might think in this particular case, if we opt for Tyreek and build our next three flexes the same exact way as we would build them with Tua, we end up with $1,300 remaining for our final spot. With Tua, we have $2,700 left for that last spot. Take a look at the guys available in the $2,700 range and the guys available in the $1,300 range:$2,700 or le s$1,300 or le sMike Gesicki, TE, Pats ($2.4K)Salvin Ahmed, RB, Fins ($1K)Braxton Berrios, WR, Fins ($2K)River Cracraft, WR, Fins ($800)Demario Douglas, WR, Pats ($1.8K)Kayshon Boutte, WR, Pats ($600)Gesicki is a reliable tight end and pa s-catcher with the revenge-game narrative against his former team. Berrios is a dependable veteran who just saw five Week 1 targets. Douglas had one of the highest targets-per-route-run in the NFL in Week 1. Ahmed scored 1.1 DK points last week. Cracraft scored 13, but six came on a TD and he has just 19 career catches in six journeyman years. Boutte is booty cheeks he failed to make one catch despite earning four targets and running a ton of routes. You smellin' what I'm stepping in?Very long story short, big-money budgeting and decision-making is crucial because the difference between Tua and Tyreek this Sunday night will likely be much le s extreme than the difference between the $2,700 club and the $1,300 club. And Tua is a damn good early-season option, as long as he doesn't get hurt. Last year against a better, healthier Pats D in Week 1, Tagovailoa had 270 yards and a TD. We like Tua's chances of hitting 300-plus yards for the three-point boost more than we like Hill's chances of hitting 100- Tomas Hertl Jersey plus yards.FLEX Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, Patriots ($9,400)Stevenson had some trouble against the Eagles' dominant defensive line last weekend, but he sure made some late noise in the pa sing game. The dude never stops moving, and Mac Jones almost always looks his way when he's hurried and desperate to move the chains. You say garbage time, I say goldmine Belichick loves this kid's pa s-catching ability, and so do we in PPR formats. Especially considering Miami's secondary is solid and New England's wide receivers are 'Mondre's making just about all my DFS teams this weekend.FLEX Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Patriots ($5,800)Now we have the Pats' running game and pa s-catching RBs basically monopolized. Stevenson was on the field for 73 percent of the Patriots' offensive snaps last Sunday, and Elliott was on the field for 35 percent of them. And these two might be New England's two most talentedathletic skill-position players. We're here for the dump-offs and YAC, Mr. Money Mac!FLEX Hunter Henry, TE, Patriots ( San Jose Sharks Jersey $5,600)Don't look now, but when the smoke cleared from Week 1, the top tight end in fantasy football was none other than Little Rock, AR native Hunter Henry (you want factoids? we got factoids). Mac JonesHenry for his solid route-running, his sure hands, and his strength and athleticism after the catch. If the Pats hit the scoring zone this Sunday, Henry will get some looks. If they need to move the chains late in a half, Henry will get some looks. The dude may never wind up the subject of TMZ rumors like some other tight ends we know, but he's probably a better pa s-catcher than any New England wideout so the upside remains. He won't be this cheap next week.FLEX Mike Gesicki, TE, Patriots ($2,400)Like we said earlier, Gesicki has the revenge-game narrative at play this weekend. He played his first five seasons with the Fish, and eclipsed 700 yards in 2020 and 2021. But after he got franchise tagged by Miami in 2022, he fell out of favor in the Mike McDaniel system for not run-blocking well enough and wanting more targets than the Fins had to offer.Gesicki signing with the Patriots this offseason made a lot of sense for all parties Jones likes throwing to large targets, and Belichick has rolled out 2TE sets countle s times in the past. Chargers tight end Donald Parham broke out for a strong Week 1 game against these Dolphins, and we wouldn't be surprised if Gesicki finds the end zone Sunday night and helps us find a pot of gold at the end of our DFS rainbow.MORE DK SHOWDOWN:This year, we're also listing our favorite single-game DFS plays on.For those unfamiliar,DFS scoring involves point multipliers as opposed to traditional salary-capped or tiered contests. A winning lineup will likely feature a strong mix of stud fantasy contributors with 1x-1.6x boosts, as well Joe Thornton Jersey as matchup-based sleepers with larger multipliers. Each player is a signed a scoring multiplier based on their value as determined by SuperDraft. Users can roster any player in their lineup with no restrictions.MORE:Here are the most notable scoring rules for SuperDraft NFL contests:Half-point PPR,four-point pa sing TDs,two-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards,100 receiving yards, and 300 pa sing yards.MORE SUPERDRAFT DFS:Champion (+50% points): Jaylen Waddle, WR, Dolphins (Multiplier 1.75X)Super FLEX: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Dolphins(1.65x)Super FLEX: Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, Patriots(1.9x)Super FLEX: Raheem Mostert, RB, Dolphins (2.1x)SuperFLEX: Hunter Henry, TE, Patriots (2.45x)We're avoiding Hill yet again because it just seems like 90 percent of entries will probably take him with no salary cap. If he underwhelms and one of our higher boosts goes boom, we're coming away with some money. We have high-floor options Waddle with the +50 percent points multiplier on top of the 1.75x boost, Tua at 1.65x, both starting backs, and the top-scoring tight end from Week 1. Let's do this!
